Whitby-Oshawa Green Party
The Whitby-Oshawa Green Party consists of two distinct organizations:
The Electoral District Association (EDA) - federal, and the
Constituency Association (CA) - provincial. They were created and
operated under, respectively, Elections Canada and Elections Ontario
and their respective Elections Acts.
Electoral District Association
The Whitby-Oshawa Green Party EDA is an official political entity
registered under the Canada Elections Act and affiliated with the Green
Party of Canada. Its founding meeting was held in November 2006 at
which time its constitution was passed.
Constituency Association
The Whitby-Oshawa Green Party CA will be an official political
entity registered under the Ontario Elections Act and affiliated with
the Green Party of Ontario. Its founding meeting was held in September 5, 2007 at
which time its constitution was passed.
The Whitby-Oshawa EDA and CA were merged with constitutional amendments passed at the January 2009 annual general meeting, although the finances are kept separate for each. |
